REGRETS AND REGRESSION.

When we find ourselves in unforgivable mood reminiscing our past actions and wishing we had engaged in some actions to avert the situation we find ourselves in. This deep thought which often fills us with sorrow is what we call regret and reaction to it varies ,as well as how far we allow it to affect our present /future actions also varies.
We may claim we have no regrets in our lives or past decisions but is this really so? I think regret can only be felt when we acknowledge our failures, or unfulfilled desires and see the situation we find ourselves as irredeemable.
Regrets most times slow down our success and motivation because the time we should spend on working towards achieving our aims, or constructing a better plan, we waste it wishing we had more control over the situation that cause us grief.

Continuous regrets will  not be of any benefit to us because it only wrecks us emotionally and when we start to dwell on it, we may lose opportunities that could have been utilised if we were involved in counter plans for the disappointments we have encountered.
People start experiencing regression in their personal life and success when they start to dwell on disappointments. We should learn to accept disappointments as part of the basis of life challenges and always have multiple planning system that can be used when a part of the plan we implement fails.
We all go through the phase of disappointments, it is the ability to recover from it on time that may ruin us.The moment we learn to embrace our disappointments with a better plan, we grow emotionally and become closer to achieving our aim.
Our individual differences may require us to talk to someone around us about how we feel, and their views about it to help us analysing the cause of our disappointments.
To counter regression and accelerate our progression, we must learn to fully understand our emotions, disappointments & its cause and address them promptly before it have any adverse effect on us.

  1. Emotions are guides to what need to be changed or learned in Life. Mistakes are growth opportunities. I must agree that wallowing in disappointment or regret will ruin a Life. Great article!
