Nothing hastens up a conflict faster than when our people condemn us but praise another person for the action we have committed. This act of hypocrisy is firmly rooted within our society and it relies on our biased nature to grow.
We deliberately try to obfuscate violation of rules & norms that strangers or people of diverse culture have indulged in yet lambaste people with the same cultural component as us. Examples ranges from condemning indigenous actor & praising foreign ones, condemning and crucifying nudity in our people but clamoring support for a “pitiful Stanger” and even shamelessly linking blames to the helpless/orphaned children around us but creating funds/support group for other children.
We refuse to acknowledge our immediate surrounding and correct its deficits but will rather indulge in others by giving them a second chance.
In our quest to be pious, we become harsh and inconsiderate in our judgement and assessment of people around us because we expect them to see things similarly since we share integrated culture, beliefs and values.
We have to realize that everyone whether related or a stranger have equal rights under the law. To really achieve that pious and noble state we want, we should always defend what is right and criticize what is wrong without discrimination to gender, race & cultural background.
The most important tip is to avoid being judgmental, to always remember that everyone is distinct in character & behavior. The belief that people who share the same family, culture must view and analyze things and situation in the same perspective should be eliminated because our interest are diverse.
Learning to have a stable behavior and attitude towards different life situations and concept without bias to even ourselves will reduce the unwanted conflicts we repeatedly get implicated in.
