HUMAN MARGINALISATION.

Racism, ethnocentrism and social stratification have always been a sensitive topic with no conclusive debate to provide an answer to resolve it.
Feeling cheated, under-priviledged, stigmatized and stereotyped because of our nationality, race, gender, religion and physical attributes is not alien to us. We still find ourselves in unavoidable arguments to prove our worth and correct any misconceptions & stereotype about our race, family and religion. We point out reasonable facts and situations that shows that we are not as bad as we are perceived.
Frustrations and anger is usually a common emotional conflict we battle with when our rights are trampled upon. When things don’t work our way, we are swift to point out that we were not favored because of our sociocultural differences which are sometimes true.

Opportunities have been hijacked from us because they don’t share and trust our race, religion and values. Our people have been oppressed, basic amenities left unprovided because those in power may not even know our existence and plight.
We complain when people label us with indictive, offensive and false adjectives but would spit fire and rage hailstorms when people do as much as tell us their misconceptions about us and our people.
The act of rating a race superior to another, underestimating the ability of others based on past actions of a member of their sect or restricting opportunities for human development to a particular region that favor us and have a strong and evidence-based linking to us. Humans are the creators of this “Marginalisation” as we call it but we would all blatantly deny our participation in it. From our childhood, we start to develop individualized opinion about everything and everyone. We have learnt to link people’s actions and behavior to their origin. When we possess more material than another person, we feel superior to them and subconsciously desire they respect us.
We shamelessly mock opposing or new beliefs and values we find in other people and without guilt,  urge them to follow our own principles to life. When resources are to be allocated, we secretly desire we get the highest portion of the resources but cry foul when another region or people get higher allocation even when we don’t need the resources being distributed.
Our selfishness has generated all our problems, as we want to live in luxury and comfort with no concern for others. For as long as long as we all continue to desire to accumulate resources we may not necessarily require, we should be prepared to continue to struggle and fight the cause for our voice and plight to be heard.
Empathy is just all we need to associate with other people. The moment we resolve to see others the way we want to be seen, to treat others the way you wish to be treated, to address others the way we want to be addressed regardless of their social status, gender, race, religion and nationality that is the time we would experience a revolution of equality.
Understanding that allocation of resources should be according to the priority will help us eliminate malicious thoughts we have towards others. Isn’t it better to have boreholes dug in communities with no standard water supply than in an estate with individual house tap system? Isn’t it better to elect the credible and people-oriented leader that is not from your tribe to your selfish corrupt kinsman? Isn’t it it better to send relief aid to disaster struck victims in need than developed countries that may shelf the drug and supplies till they decay?
Questioning and evaluating our actions is necessary in understanding that every individual is a unique being despite their socio-cultural similarities. Relate with people as individuals and not because of their tribe, religion, race or nationality except in cases where human dignity is involved. Even with cultural restrictions, we still have our own dominating personal attributes. Don’t limit your thinking, actions to your cultural views, because our diversity should create innovative ideas with a combined approach to solving our problems.
We should work on our individual self esteem, be empathetic and have open unbiased views about people around us. Letting go of our selfishness and ethnocentrism would help humanity. Identifying the priority of our needs and being empathetic to others will aid us to heal up this scar of discrimination that we have been traumatized with.
They say the world is a small place and we are interconnected in ways we can’t fathom. This connection and the fact that that our cohabitation is the one that yield our productivity. When we help and care for each other, it goes a long way in contributing to peace and development of our people and others.
Generousity and kindness is never too much to engage in. our generousity and kindness may just be the blessing another person requires and this generousity improves our standard of living.
Just judgement and approach to issues in accordance to our registered laws should be incorporated in managing social vices. Labeling a group of people as criminals because of a social deviant among them will only distract us from evils committed by even our people. We should understand that even twins may share conflicting beliefs and values.
