SELFISH

Most of us will be in support of viewing "selfishness" as a turn off in character and would prefer a caring/selfless person. The truth is we are all guilty of this "selfishness" but the intensity of this trait varies in individuals.
Selfishness could be a good or bad trait depending on the situation we find ourselves in. This brings us to the question that what is the limit of selfishness?

The moment our actions would pose a threat to the safety of the people around us just for our gain, people would classify us as a ruthless selfish person. When we don't consider the people whose living conditions may worsen because of our actions, we slowly become a monster. We may need to restructure our plans and actions in a way that our actions wont have a damaging effect on our health.
We would need to get selfish in our game of survival. We may need to reserve the little resources we have to promote our health and well being. Selflessness is not an excuse to be extravagant to the detriment of our well-being and those around us. We should not do a selfless act just to please people whom we fear may judge us for not making a decision for them rather we should do it because a large number of people would gain from it including us.
Unfortunately, selfishness could be group oriented. A group of people with the same desire, make decisions in the same pattern and even advocate for it because they are "in power". When their actions are weighed on its advantages, we realise that the main priority that may bring about progress is overlooked while they engage in vain acts of minute significance.
Selfishnesh would need to be embraced if it is the solution to our societal problems. Government and people may need to disrupt the livelihood of some people and sometimes make people homeless just to restructure the housing  and drainage system of its people, but this should not be done without strong  compensations to the people affected. We may need to get selfish in involving in actions that would bring about peace, unity, economy growth of our people. If only we could be patient enough to realise that this action will be of  future benefit for us with consideration of the less privileged.
Be selfish in pursuing your dreams to be successful, to be a helping hand to the society and having your actions bring out economic growth and development. We can be selfish if, our selfishnesh is radiated towards happiness, success of people around us also.
Analyse what your selfishnesh is geared towards, if if would serve no benefit to your well-being and the society at large you may want to restrategise. Analyse your selfish goals , if it is only going to steal away your happiness, motivation and joy of your loved ones, you may need to make a new plan.
Learn to identify when selfishnesh is the key to your personal and societal stability and know when not to cross the limit if it is going to be destructive and chaos provoking.
